Checking the Installation

Installation Test
Follow these steps if you want to know if your Internet Phone is installed properly before actually making an Internet phone call.


Problem Solving

First, follow the installation test in the above section "Checking the Installation".

Other person cannot hear you.
You should follow the steps in this section if:

  • You can hear the person that you are calling, but the person you are calling cannot hear you;
    OR
  • you went through the steps of checking the installation with the Sound Recorder but did not see a signal in the Sound Recorder window.

You cannot hear other person.
You should follow the steps in this section if:
  • the person you are calling can hear you, but you cannot hear the person you are calling;
    OR
  • you went through the steps of checking the installation with the Sound Recorder and observed your voice signal in the Sound Recorder window, but did not hear anything upon playback.

Echo
Symptom: You hear an echo or the person you are calling hears an echo.


Distortion or Static
Symptom: The voice of the person you are calling sounds ok but your voice sounds distorted on the other end.
